That last 60 seconds, wow. I felt my heart exploding.

I absolutely loved this movie. So much, that I have seen it twice, 3 days apart. No question that the soundtrack added to the captivating experience I had watching the film. After the second viewing, a friend of mine turned to me and said the music sounded like me (of course, she meant sounded like a lot of the music I play). Retro Electro synth with a European sensibility. College is featured, part of the Valerie collective (Anoraak being one of my absolute favs!), The Chromatics! I was in Heaven. If you haven’t seen it yet, go! But for now – enjoy the music.
Desire – Under Your Spell
College – Real Hero
Kavinsky – Nightcall
Something a little different
Riz Ortolani – Oh My Love (feat. Katyna Ranieri)

This became one of my most favorite songs the very first time I listened to it — which was approximately 4 hours ago. I since have tweeted it, posted to facebook, tumblr, IMed friends directly, and now about to share here as well. I haven’t been this excited about a song in a while (since Bon Iver maybe) and I can’t wait to check out the entire album which will be officially released August 19. Track is Somebody I Used to Know ft Kimbra on the album Making Mirrors.
Lyrics are simple, yet something I think almost all of us can relate to.
Now and then I think of when we were together
Like when you said you felt so happy you could die
Told myself that you were right for me
But felt so lonely in your company
But that was love and it’s an ache I still rememberYou can get addicted to a certain kind of sadness
Like resignation to the end

Hi. I update my Tumblr more frequently… so if you’re sad this hasn’t been updated – check that.
That’s all.
Bon Iver’s self titled album is incredibly gorgeous. I’ve listened to it on repeat the past two days and each listen, I appreciate and grow to love a different song. Below are some of my favorite tracks, as of this very moment.
Check some of my fav tracks:
This album opens with this track, and it took grip of me instantly. Seriously, I was blown away and fell in love all within the first few seconds. The solo guitar to start, then the soft march that builds up into a powerful drum & horn explosion. It is overwhelmingly beautiful.
Album officially releases June 21st.

A new favorite band of mine. They were the first opening act during the Foals concert I went to recently (May 4), and I was blown away. Super excited they’ll be playing in August at the Music Hall of Williamsburg. Speaking of my ‘hood – over the weekend I had a mini speaker in my back pocket riding around playing their tracks and maybe it was my idealistic imagination – but people seemed to dig it.

Thanks to Jared and his Song of the Day (SOTD) Emails – I now have a new fav band.
Sexy track. Check it – When I’m Small off their Eyelid Movies album.

No. We don’t.
Agreed times a thousand. I appreciate those in my life who know when it is best to leave something be. I push away those who want to talk something ad nauseum and can’t seem to let go.

Happy Birthday…to me! :D Best way to celebrate any event is with music – and the song I consider to be MINE is “Pass this On by The Knife”.
I first heard this in 2005 and I have never grown tired of it. Close friends associate me with this song, which has nothing to do with the lyrics (obviously). There are tons of songs that have a deep personal meaning to me…but this is different. No hidden meaning, it doesn’t make me stop to reflect my life…It just connects me to happiness and memories of getting friends to slowly like and open up to something a little different. Like me.
03 Pass this On (mp3)
It also happens to be my favorite music video (next to “November Rain” which I love for nostalgic childhood reasons). Enjoy!
